Beverly Claridge Contemporary Artist
I was raised in rural Western Southland, attended Southland Girls' High, then Otago Polytechnic to do a BFA, graduating with a Jewellery major at in 2001. Since then I have been working part-time from my studio at home in Invercargill, along with raising my children. I mostly work in sterling silver with natural stone elements. I love the metalsmithing and the miniaturist aspects of Jewellery, it is a delight to craft my materials into an intimate, precious object that goes through life with its wearer.
At this stage in my career, I am beginning to develop my practice in a more serious way, putting am increasing amount of time into my jewellery work and seeking new opportunities to engage in the art world as a professional artist.
